Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI) — InSPIRE Research Intern Jun 2026 – Present · Supervised by Dr. Emma Petley; PIs Prof. Matt Call & A/Prof. Melissa Call

• Investigating whether redesigning a CAR-T costimulatory receptor (4-1BBζ) TMD into its natural trimeric form improves T cell activation, following the lab’s proCAR3 hypothesis.
• Wet lab: optimised 4 TMD variants and ran flow cytometry and degranulation assays against 2 tumour cell lines — 73–74% surface expression, with T cell activation confirmed.
• Dry lab: ran 2 µs MD across 4 designs independently, verifying stable trimer assembly at 85%+ contact retention; screened mutations for expression with Rosetta and ESM2.

Zhejiang University — Computational enzyme design, Prof. Ruhong Zhou’s lab Sep 2025 – Present · Advised by Dr. Yangwei Jiang · Code

• Engineered CrtW, the rate-limiting β-carotene ketolase in astaxanthin biosynthesis, screening 320 residues into 268 candidates with Rosetta FuncLib, ESM2 and ThermoMPNN.
• 2 µs MD on the top 6: G142P + I192L gave the most extended substrate positioning and the most stable binding pocket, with no loss of stability — and +46.7% yield in vitro.

Zhejiang University, School of Medicine — Multi-omics of liver cancer, Prof. Meihua Sui’s lab Mar 2026 – Present · Advised by Dr. Wenbin Zhou

• Analysed transcriptomic and metabolomic data across hepatitis, cirrhosis and HCC in 174 mice, identifying 12 sex-biased metabolites in bile acid, tryptophan and acylcarnitine pathways.
• Estrogen supplementation reversed the bile acid marker TUDCA (+97%) and rescued half the male–female gap in a composite disease score.
• Linked WGCNA and PPI hub genes to the metabolomics through 155 connections.

ZJU-China, iGEM 2025 — Technical Lead, LumaManta Aug 2024 – Oct 2025 · Advised by Prof. Ming Chen & Prof. Fan Yang

• Led a 14-member team across wet lab, dry lab, hardware and software to a Silver Medal, building an all-in-one device for real-time water pollutant and eDNA monitoring.
• Engineered BiChromaLogic, a light-controlled circuit turning 2 light inputs into 4 sensor proteins on demand via CRISPR logic gates — 169% activation, 92% repression.

Zhejiang University — Provincial SRTP, Prof. Ming Chen’s lab Mar 2025 – Feb 2026 · Rated Outstanding

• Identified a vioE mutant (+32% activity) by semi-rational design and MD, plus two gene knockouts (+48% / +23% yield) from genome-scale metabolic modelling.
• Built dual orthogonal quorum-sensing circuits and a blue-light split-Cre system for programmable, reversible control of pigment output.
